The adult cat flea is a curious creature.  Lay one down on a slick table and it will just lay there and spin around.  The flea is designed to walk through hair.  The hair keeps the flea upright.  The flea has very powerful legs that allow it to jump fantastic distances.  It can jump ten inches or so from the carpet up onto a cat or dog.  Once on the animal the cat stays there the rest of its life.  The female cat flea then starts sucking blood.  It needs blood in order to lay eggs.  Continue reading →
