Icynene is an Air Barrier for Sure

Icynene is an air barrier. That means that water that is disolved in the air cannot get into the insulation or the wall void. The water cannot reach the dew point where it would turn into liquid water. The liquid water could raise the moisture content of the wood until fungus rot could survive. Water that is disolved in the air (as a vapor) can move through fiberglas, celulose or any other fiber insulation and cause problems with fungus rot.
